The Blackpool Sixth Form College 5.09

With a choice of over 60 advanced level options, specialist teaching and fantastic facilities, Blackpool Sixth gives all its students the perfect springboard to university and great careers.

Blackpool Sixth’s course range is extremely wide with A levels and BTEC options. Students are able to put together a programme which exactly matches their interests and future ambitions. Blackpool Sixth is also the only local state school or college offering the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) qualification to students.

Following its inspection in May 2009, the college was graded as “outstanding” by Ofsted. The inspectors praised the “exceptional academic and personal skills development” and the “extraordinary support” which the college provides.

Students also benefit from an enrichment programme which offers an extremely wide variety of activities including team and individual sports, outdoor pursuits, work experience, voluntary service, enterprise, as well as foreign and UK visits.

Summer 2011 sees the completion of our new theatre, performance studios and centre for English and Modern Languages. The Sixth Form recently opened a new centre for Visual Arts and Media, new Science laboratories and new learning resource centres.
