The space we now occupy has a history of use as an art department for a local newspaper, an internet radio station, a DJ hang-out/studio and, most recently, launched as Studio 3 late in 2014.

Mark is the last remaining member of the initial Studio 3 project and invited Barrie Jay and Davos to join him to fulfil his vision of having a cultural hub based in Blackpool.

It seems appropriate to keep the Studio 3 name but we have added `Collective` as it fits well with the vision all three of us have.

As it currently stands it is a big boy`s toy (well three big boys` toy) and Phase 1 of our project is now complete with a new fully fitted kitchen, large lounge area with deck stand and a rehearsal, writing and recording suite.

Phase 2 of our project will commence after we recover and re-charge our batteries. It will include upgrading of the washing and toilet facility, a new meeting/ dining area, workshop, reception area and upgrade to the soft furnishings in the Lounge

Our website should be up and running in a few weeks explaining more about what Studio 3 Collective stands for, what we can offer and how other like-minded people can get involved.

We are also seeking mutually beneficial sponsors.

The time and effort we (and many other friends) have put into this project as Phase 1 nears completion and our vision becomes reality makes the blood, sweat and a few tears all worthwhile.

We wanted the space to have the wow factor and we believe we have achieved it. We have received nothing but positive comments from those that have had a sneaky preview.

We are very excited as to what the future may hold.

Please like our Facebook page to keep up to date with the latest news as we have a lot to add over the coming weeks.

If you would like to know more about our Collective and the services we can offer please contact one or more of us or visit our website www.studio3collective.co.uk
