The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Peter's Hospital, Surrey is the designated NICU for Surrey.
We care for babies at all gestations who require intensive, high dependency and special care support, and we help to run the 24-hour, 7 day South East Coast Neonatal Transport Service which enables us to accept babies, wherever possible, from other hospitals in Surrey, Sussex, Kent and Medway as well as further afield.
We deliver a high standard of care with excellent outcomes, and have particular expertise in the non-invasive respiratory management of the preterm baby using nasal High Flow treatment. We offer all modes of ventilation, Nitric Oxide, Therapeutic Hypothermia and we have a donor breast milk bank onsite.
We have developed strong teams to provide Bereavement Support, Clinical Practice Education, Transitional Care, Neonatal Transport, Developmental Care and Community Neonatal nursing.
We participate in high quality local, national and international research studies which aim to continually improve the care and outcomes for babies.
