Solus Glass 1.93

My name is Stella Whittle and I am Solus Glass. Whilst I predominantly work with glass specifically manufactured for kiln-working, I also recycle post consumer, construction and automotive glass. Working with recycled glass has its own particular challenges, it is however, extremely rewarding when, for example, an old bus window can be transformed into a beautiful, unique bowl reminiscent of watery pools with varying shades of green.
Speciality kiln-forming glass is exciting to work with as there is an array of gorgeous, bright colours and subtle tones, together with the bling of dichroic. No matter the mood there is always a glass to suit.
Solus Glass products are sold through the studio gallery I share with Alan Whittle Ceramics called Solus Studio in Stoneybridge, South Uist. There is also a very small selection in the Dark Island Hotel, Benbecula, and during the summer, the Kildonan Centre, South Uist. In addition, my online shop is under construction at www.solusglass.co.uk and will be open for business from the end of March 2016.
