While travelling in India Smith, an anthropologist, decided to set up a small business in 2015 with her Indian friend Solanki to help give her economic independence, since she was facing a forced arranged marriage. Solanki's vision was to revolutionize fashion in the UK and provide women lifestyle pieces ranging from clothing, jewellery, accessories and shoes at addictive prices and unbeatable qualities, swamping their wardrobes with an envious selection celebrating femininity. She also wanted to sell her paintings to furnish homes.

Smith wanted to help people in the UK relax with ancient ayurvedic Indian massage techniques she had learned. She had also taken prints on her own travels she wished to sell.

The friends agreed that when they are provided for they should give something back. Solanki and Smith pledge to give 10% of profits to schools/ orphanage institutes in Gujurat where they had both seen inspiring work taking place.
