Sleipnir's Snaps Photography 1.81

Sleipnir is the eight legged horse from Norse mythology, ridden by Odin. Sired by a giant horse, Svaoilfari, and offspring of the god Loki, Sleipnir was the result of plan to get something for nothing:

Once the Gods had created their realms, an unknown builder offered to build walls, to protect their lands from invaders, in the time of three seasons, in exchange for the sun, the moon, and the goddess Freyja, to be his own. After much discussion, and with strict terms laid to the agreement, the gods agreed to this offer, allowing the builder’s one request that he be allowed his great horse to assist him. The Stallion worked with twice the strength and stamina of any builder, so when the wall was nearly complete, the Gods realised they would have to pay, and convened to discuss whose fault this was. Eventually the blame fell to Loki, who was then assigned the task of ‘sorting out this mess’, and if he did not, he would suffer horrible death. Loki turned himself into a great mare, and ran out neighing and stamping. Upon catching her scent, the great Stallion turned, broke loose from his tethers and chased the mare into the forest, leaving the builder unable to complete his task within the allotted time, and thus forfeiting his payment. Sleipnir was born to Loki a year later, as a product of his night’s work.

Turns out it didn’t matter in the end as before, Loki returned from his encounter with the stallion, Thor smashed the builder’s head in with his great big hammer.

But on to the important things:

My name is Harriet, and this is the experimental start of my photographic career. Working between episodes of illness, I am photographing, building my experience and portfolio, with the aim of turning this in to a full business. My main areas of event photography are re-enactment, Larping (Live Action Role Play) and Equestrian. However I also enjoy playing with artistic shots, wildlife photography, and private shoots. Private shoots include anything from, Equestrian ‘for sale’ pictures, through pet photography, to modelling shots.

Photos from events can be ordered (either printed or digital) at a small fee purely to cover costs of production (no profit).
