We strive for perfection in coffee. Our blend is unique to us, a mix of responsibly sourced beans resulting in an intense flavoursome coffee without a trace of bitterness. Our food is simply delicious. We spit-roast our joints of fresh meat (lamb, beef or pork) with a herb crust, and our daily specials are freshly prepared. We have some invented dishes which are proving increasingly popular, such as the quick flipped mushroom omelette in a golden toasted croissant. Delicious for breakfast!! But we are not only a daytime café ..... we magically transform, three nights a week, into a warm and cosy venue for simply delicious dinner. Our inspiration comes from the Périgord (goose, duck, truffle, wild mushroom, Cognac) and in the current trend of innovative cuisine, Britain. We add oriental umami flavours (dashi, nuoc mam, wasabi, mirin) where appropriate, not to look good on a menu but to taste surprising and delicious. Our venue may be quirky (we're still an unpretentious café) but our evening food is memorable. Watch out for our new upstairs lunch venue next Summer!! Low calorie meals, such as Fresh Crab Salad, Duck Egg Omelette, and always our legendary home baked granary bread. We have many treats in store.
