Sidney Nolan Trust 3.3

The Sidney Nolan Trust is a charity which was set up in order to fulfil Sidney Nolan’s ambition of creating an international gathering place for artists, scholars, students and many others to meet, exchange ideas, develop their practice and further both individual and combined artistic endeavour. Its current focus is twofold: to restore the buildings at the Rodd, allowing them to serve as the home of the Trust’s learning programmes and Nolan collection; and to grow this collection as well as establish an endowment fund which will support the maintenance of the Trust’s educational activities.
The Sidney Nolan Trust was established at The Rodd near Presteigne in 1985. Sidney purchased Rodd Farm, the land surrounding The Rodd, in order to preserve the setting for his Trust and to enable the Trust to care for a precious piece of land for which he had developed a passion and great respect.
