How long will it take to make my keepsake?
The maximum time you would be waiting for your keepsake is currently 8-10 weeks however we aim for it to reach you much sooner than this. We will keep you updated of the progress of your keepsake where possible. Please remember that these are handmade using precious clothing therefore a lot of care is taken when creating them. When offers are held we may sometimes have to increase the time taken to make these but will notify you via our page posts. The time taken to make your keepsake starts on arrival of your parcel, it does not begin when you place the order so please send your items as soon as possible to reduce waiting times.

Who will be making the keepsake?
I will, it is a very time consuming process as I will be personally drawing, cutting, ironing, lining, sewing, stuffing, padding, stitching, finishing and packaging your keepsake. This is why you can wait up to 10 weeks for your keepsake depending on busy periods. This period of time may increase, we will notify of any changes via our facebook page posts.

How many items of clothing do I need to send? 5-6 items 3-6 months or an equivalent amount of fabric. Please do not send too many as returning unused clothing could increase your postage costs. All items should be washed before sending to me but they do not have to be ironed.

What type of fabrics can be used in my keepsake?
The ideal fabric is cotton jersey, the material babygrows are made from. Other ideal types of fabrics are from clothing such as PJs, t-shirts, jeans and corduroy.

I am unable to use loosely knitted, thickly padded items or fine/delicate fabrics as they do not recraft very well into these keepsakes.

When do I pay for my keepsake?
I require payment to be cleared before any work will commence. I take payment via paypal or you can send a cheque included with the clothing parcel. You have the option to change your mind within a 7 day period, once work begins I am unable to offer a refund.

I recommend that when sending the clothing parcel you do this via a tracked method of delivery. Please ensure they are wrapped carefully to avoid any damage in transit. Sew Loved does not accept any responsibility for parcels before they reach me and also not responsible for any damaged/lost items whilst in transit. I will confirm safe receipt of your parcel once it arrives.

Can I have any input into the creation of my keepsake?
Yes, if there is a particular item or detail that means a lot to you and you would like it to be a more prominent feature on your keepsake then you must let me know at the time of placing your order or in a note placed within your parcel. I will always try to adhere to your requests however sometimes the design and fabric will not allow. I will keep you informed if I am unable to meet your request. If you wish to be contacted when work on your keepsake is about to start then please let me know at the time of ordering.


General Information:

I will be using photographs of each keepsake made to help promote my business. If you would prefer to keep your item hidden please let me know.

I like to give each keepsake a first name when sharing photographs for a personal touch, a perfect name would be your little ones first name for example Alice Bear. No surname will be included. Again if you would prefer me to use a random name please let me know..
