The Stort Valley Branch is run totally by volunteers and we are a separately registered charity & branch of the RSPCA and are primarily responsible for raising our own funds locally

As a branch we fundraise by various events and collections that enable us to provide a clinic staffed by a qualified Veterinary Surgeon. We do not have operating or X-ray facilities, if these are required then a referral to a private vet will be given.

The clinic service is available to people on a state benefit. The benefits included are Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, Invalidity Benefit, Disability Living Allowance, Retirement Pension, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support and Working Tax Credit.

Our branch area extends from Saffron Walden Essex to Broxbourne Hertfordshire, including Bishop’s Stortford, Harlow and the villages surrounding this corridor. However, we are aware that some neighbouring RSPCA Branches do not offer a clinic service and we are therefore prepared to see clients from neighbouring areas.

There is a consultation fee of charged at each visit. Drugs are supplied at cost. Wildlife is treated free of charge.

We also have an advice centre where you can obtain advice on the care of animals, details of local shelters and rescue centres, etc.
