I've always had a passion for textiles ever since I was young, leading my mother to despair when I would attack garments with a pair of blunt kitchen scissors and hand sew them together to make something new. At university, I was obsessed with the folds of fabric, and would painstakingly gather cloth and play with light, in order to make a visually appealing still life for me to then paint in oils. Since then, I have played with all kinds of fabric and developed my own designs, notably a cape suitable for wearing over a baby sling, which inspired me to set up my own business in 2014. This has organically grown into a successful dressmaking business, and I took the opportunity whilst on maternity leave to shift things more towards the bridal sector, as I found there is more demand for special occasion wear. I really enjoy working with clients to design original garments that fit perfectly to suit and flatter their body shape, giving them confidence, and me the opportunity to create beautiful things from fine fabrics.
I offer free design consultations for local people at my home in Waterlooville ( I can travel to you within a 20 mile radius with a charge of 45pence per mile). I can also create bespoke accessories from fabrics to complement garments, and work with other local suppliers to complete your look and feel.
