I spent my teenage years confused by food and what was the ‘right’ thing to eat. The media was (and still is) full of conflicting information, from ‘fitness gurus’ to ‘health professionals’; I never knew who I should believe or what to do. From this, I developed a poor relationship with food - I’d indulge in foods I thought to be ‘bad’ then feel guilty and eat a minimal amount to reset the balance. I’d try to avoid fats and carbohydrates because I was told they were bad. Then, feeling exhausted, I’d consume vast amounts of food and then the cycle would begin again. I was tired of this vicious cycle, so I made a change.

I educated myself on how to live a healthy lifestyle, and the science behind food and nutrition, I debunked media hyped myths, and crucially, I began to enjoy food for the first time in many years.

Nutrition underpins my lifestyle, the knowledge I’ve gained has changed my perspective completely, and I can enjoy food, cooking and even dining out without the horrible feeling of confusion and guilt I used to feel.

Food shouldn’t be complicated, I’m here to remove the confusion and encourage a sustainable lifestyle change.
