RhuddFest 3.77

Hey folks, for those of you who don't already know, I’m Peter, the organiser of Rhuddfest, I just wanted to give you all a bit of insight to what Rhuddfest is all about. So much has been done to make this 3rd year of our family music festival even better! There’s loads more free stuff to do, an awesome line-up, plenty of staff, first aid, and security to keep you and your family safe, and this year I’ve organised kids party dances with our mascots to keep your little ones entertained and having fun while the bands are changing over.

There’s plenty of other things to do and lots of activities to get involved in, but Rhuddfest is primarily a family friendly music festival, so to set the scene, we wanted to give a steady and progressive flow of bands throughout the day. Bearing in mind, as the organiser of this event I also run a stage hire business which means I’m constantly working with bands and musicians across the country, special care has been taken to put together an amazing line up which will be sure to satisfy everyone that comes along.

Starting off by showcasing 3 of our very talented local youth bands from 11am, then taking it through to an afternoon of awesome entertainment! We have the amazingly talented and energetic Hedge gods, https://www.facebook.com/HedgeGods/ a warp driven acoustic analogue dance band from Wales. I will be getting up to play a few of my own songs, and maybe a couple of covers, and you’ll also see some seriously impressive live looping from the amazingly skilled Samwise, https://www.facebook.com/SamwiseSings/

At around 5 or 6pm we’ll be kicking off the evening with our very impressive line-up of rock, pop, and funk bands, which we promise will completely blow your socks off! From the likes of The Straight Jacket Legends, https://www.facebook.com/straightjacketlegends/ who fantastically mix a fusion of catchy power punk songs, orchestral power riffs, and dangerously slick harmonies! And also Blue Nation, https://www.facebook.com/BlueNationMusic/?ref=br_rs/ who are a riff driven, melodic rock band from Birmingham. The quality of this band, including the lead vocals, really is something to admire.

Our Headlining band is a seven piece soul and funk party band, Yubaba, who I’ve worked with at several festivals before, Yubaba played at Rhuddfest’16, but in an earlier slot, they went down an absolute storm and are guaranteed to get you moving and grooving. They have such a big sound, amazing lead vocals, even a trumpet, and a sax player! I strongly recommend you do not miss this band!

After the main stage has drawn to an end, at around 11pm, we’ll be continuing the fun and the music in the Bar Tent Party! We have some great rustic and acoustic musicians primed and ready to finish off the night with style. Last year’s bar tent party was absolutely bouncing, with a couple of musicians that played throughout the day getting up and joining in, it’s the kind of atmosphere that even six months later has you looking back at Rhuddfest with a huge smile on your face.
