WHAT IS REIKI? (pronounced Ray-Key) is a method of natural energy healing based on the use of Universal Life Force. It is channelled through the practitioner's/master's hands and into the patient. It was rediscovered by Dr. Usui in the 19th century.

Reiki is a healing technique using the hands either slightly above or lightly touching the body.

WHAT CAN REIKI DO FOR YOU? Reiki energy brings deep relaxation, soothing emotions and reducing negative feelings.It brings clarity, focus and a sense of purpose back into life. It enhances the benefits of all other therapies. One treatment is physiologically the equivalent of 3 to 4 hours' deep sleep. It helps you find true peace of mind and brings positivity to help you cope with life’s daily challenges.

WHAT CAN REIKI TREAT? Reiki is a whole body treatment. We say in Reiki that problems arise because of blockages caused by negative thinking, lifestyle choices, ongoing treatments, stresses and an attitude of not loving oneself. Reiki does not differentiate between the levels of the person but instead perceives the whole body as working as one entity. Reiki recognises that it is not our problems that need healing but our whole self. In healing we believe that every cell of the body contains universal energy. This energy can become disordered or out of balance. Reiki rebalances this energy and once again creates order in the energy of the cells. Reiki works by clearing away the blockages, on whichever level they appear, that prevent us from being whole.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A REIKI SESSION? During the Reiki session the practitioner places his or her hands very lightly on the body in a variety of positions. The patient is normally lying down and always remains fully clothed throughout the session as Reiki is so powerful that it will even reach the body through a plaster cast.

HOW DOES REIKI FEEL? Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Some feel a slight tingling or sensations of warmth, others just a deep relaxation. Some find themselves in a deep meditative state whilst thers feel rejuvenated and energised. Some even fall into a deep and refreshing sleep.

IS REIKI SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE? YES - Reiki is always totally safe and appropriate making it suitable for everyone - children and adults. It benefits people in wonderful and extraordinary ways. It is also highly effective for animals.
