Red Barn Lambs are produce locally by Will Shemilt on his family farm behind the village of Old and Cherry Hill, all our lambs are free range and reared entirely on site, we don’t buy in lambs, so you can be sure that everything has had only the best stress free life.

Truly local, why pay more and be unsure of the origin of your meat when you can buy direct from the farmer, quite often at half the price of the supermarkets, and support local businesses and free range farming while saving money.

About us, Red Barn Lambs was started by brothers Will and Mike Shemilt in 2011. Both Will and Mike are local farmers their family has been farming in the area for generations. The idea was to produce a product high quality meat at an affordable price whilst maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, and selling everything locally. We don’t like the market system where animals are transported all over the UK, all our lambs are taken to Joseph Morris Butchers in South Kilworth, 17 miles from the farm, where they are expertly slaughtered under the watchful eye of a farm to fork vet, then they are taken to Chambers butchers in Brixworth where the meat is matured for a week and professionally butchered into prime cuts of meat before being delivered to you. All our lambs are grass fed, not artificially fattened on grain, giving the meat a delicious lean flavour whilst ensuring that the animal is not ‘rushed’ to slaughter.

How it works, if you are interested in buying some lamb please phone Will on the number below and he will arrange the amount and delivery, please note that all out meat is sold to order and may take two weeks to arrive, doing things this way ensures that only fresh meat, not frozen, is delivered to you. Delivery to your door is free within a 10 mile radius.

Prices, all our lambs are sold in halves, or multiples thereof, a ‘half lamb’ consists of, Neck Chops, Rack of Lamb, Lamb Chops, Steak, Knuckle end Shoulder Joint, Fillet end Shoulder Joint, Leg, Minced and Diced Lamb, and Offal. All this for only £50 per half, this works out at around £5-£7 per Kg, depending of the size of the lamb, which can be as much as 50% of the supermarket prices. If you are a business or a budding butcher a whole carcasses can be purchased for £85 each.
