Rainford High Technology College is a community secondary school and sixth form college located in Rainford, Merseyside, England.The school specialises in technology, and has a notable tradition of producing competitive sports teams, most notably in rugby, however failing in both swimming and track and field events. Recently the schools golf team has had brilliant success competing both regionally and nationally.The school was recently rebuilt as part of the UK government's Building Schools for the Future programme. The school remained operational as it was being rebuilt with students having to work around the construction work, which may have accounted for a slight dip in performance of students between 2013 and 2015.During the rebuilding work there was a massive increase in students studying construction after seeing it in action and falsely hoping it could make a viable career.In 2013 the building work was finished and Rainford High Technology College was a state of the art centre for learning, with specialised facilities for sensitivities. A small investment from a local swimming club - Prescot Swimming Club - allowed the school to increase funding to allow students to express their feelings and discover themselves.Rainford ConnectRainford Connect is Rainford's Virtual Learning Environment. Connect is one of the most advanced Secondary School VLEs in the UK and contains a wide range of interactive activities as well as access to student data. Connect is hosted and developed in-house by the school and is based on the Moodle LMS platform.
