Property Network Meeting 2.06

Lisa bought her first house in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire for £21,000 in 1985. She moved back to her home city of Cambridge to work in her father’s business – ‘Hudson Windows’- & she kept this property, rented it out and bought another home on the outskirts of Cambridge. Working with her father would prove to be invaluable for her future in property because she started as a labourer, progressing to be part of a team and eventually being project manager for the company. She stayed in the family business for ten years until moving to the Midlands and joining the Prison Service.

Lisa trained as a PE Officer in the prison service, working in high security male and female establishments before embarking on a ‘full time property’ life with her husband Andy Madge in February 2011. She continued to systematically build her portfolio of property with Andy mainly with single lets and adding value then re-financing to create further deposits. It was a slow progression but a system had begun! Lisa resigned from her career in 2011 to turn her passion for property back into a full time role – she needed to provide for her family and she wanted to expand her knowledge and experience.

Lisa has drive and passion to provide decent, affordable and secure accommodation for people who found themselves in vulnerable circumstances having had personal experience not only with her work in the Prison Service but also with a close family member and understanding the devastating impact on someones life to have no safe place to call home.
