Entry Requirements
Entry to this course is via audition and interview. You should be working at the equivalent of ISTD Intermediate Level and be actively participating in dance performance and/or dance classes.

During this specialist course you will follow a programme of study which incorporates the following qualifications:
Foundation Degree in Teaching Dance in the Private Sector
RAD Ballet (Intermediate Advanced 1 & 2)
ISTD Ballet, Modern, Tap & National (Intermediate Advanced 1 & 2)
ISTD Diploma in Dance Instruction (Level 3) and the Diploma in Dance Education (Level 4) in ballet, modern, tap and national plus written units
LAMDA Speech and Musical theatre
Jazz
Street Jazz: Contemporary
Drama and Music Appreciation
BTECH Dance
Alongside this course you may also be able to study other qualifications depending upon how they fit in with your dance timetable
Assessment
Continual assessment using various methods, including: practical work, log books, reports, evaluations, presentation.
Progression
On completion of the course you may choose to go into performance or teaching. The teaching qualifications you achieve provide opportunities to progress directly into employment. There is also the opportunity to progress from the Foundation Degree in Teaching Dance in the Private Sector to study a BA(HONS) in Dance, Performance and Teaching at UCLan.
