Portsbridge Service Station first opened for business in 1968 and was a traditional, local garage with an attended service forecourt, repair workshop and TBA – tyres, batteries & accessory sales.
The forecourt was converted to self-service in the 1970’s and around the same time, the stylish (in the 1960’s) Gullwing canopy was converted to a modern flat top.
Over the years, various changes and improvements were made, including a first floor extension and a larger (tiny by modern standards) forecourt shop.
The site has sold Jet petrol since day one and this 45+ year relationship will continue in the new development.
By 2012 the existing premises were very tired and the decision to redevelop was taken, however, it took a couple more years to get everything into place so the redevelopment plans could become a reality.
Please follow the redevelopment progress here, or on Twitter @PortsbridgeNisa and we look forward to welcoming you to the fantastic new facility in the very near future.
