My name is Sam. I am a freelance photographer based in the north east of England. I specialise in capturing 'the moment' and your memories for you to treasure forever.


I have always been a creative person but once I held a camera in my hand, I soon realised I would never look at the world in the same way again. It just fit. My camera became an extension of me. Whether I am out for a walk or driving in my car, at every glance I am looking at it as a shot, as a moment to capture. That is what being a photographer is about. That is what I am about.


Now... that is me behind the camera. In front of the camera, well that is a different story. I am usually the person hiding behind someone else or avoiding having my picture taken.
Instead of this being a huge contradiction, I believe it makes me a better photographer. I will always make you feel comfortable and relaxed and I will not force a situation. The best shots really do come from capturing a moment, a moment that some people would not even notice.


The old saying 'a picture is worth a thousand words', for me this could not be more true. I hope you will agree that my pictures tell a story. When photographing people, whether it be a family, a couple, a child or the family's much loved pet, I like to think about the reason why people are getting the portrait done or why a certain shot means so much to them and that in itself helps me to see the real story, the real purpose of my work.
Memories they can last forever, and for me photographs help protect and preserve those memories.


Not only am I passionate about shots of people. I am searching to discover untold beauty. A landscape shot that takes you to the place in the picture or maybe something slightly obscure that captures your imagination. That is what photography is about. Escapism vs realism, letting your imagination run wild.

So if you are looking for a photographer, you can look anywhere, we are not few and far between. But if you are looking for something more than just a nice photo or an artificial portrait shot, then look no further.
