PERSONAL TRAINER

Personal training is a great way to kick start your fitness goals whether it be to lose weight, bulk up, tone up or improve health and wellbeing. It's also a superb way to help focus your goals to train especially to a final outcome whether it be to lose weight, to bulk up or run a marathon. Together we can do anything!

NUTRITIONIST

I can provide nutrition advice to help improve your health and wellbeing sometimes without making huge changes to your current diet, still making it something you can actually enjoy and easily fit into your daily routine. Sometimes all you need is a little help to take that next step whether your goal is to lose weight, bulk up, lean up or just improve your energy levels throughout the day.

GYM INSTRUCTOR

I do gym inductions and health assessments at Heywood Sports for potential new members if gym training is preferable to home visits.

BOXERCISE

Boxercise is a sport based on the exercises that boxers use to keep fit, but does not involve actually hitting anyone (or being hit). It is therefore a relatively safe activity for all sorts of people. The sport offers a way for people with little interest in contact boxing to benefit from the fitness that the sport can bring. Furthermore it is a great way to relieve stress, improve cardiovascular fitness, improve hand/eye co-ordination.

SPIN INSTRUCTOR

Spinning classes (indoor cycling to music) can be a great way to enrol in a vigorous workout in a relatively short amount of time (30-45 mins) burning calories and keeping your muscles in shape. There are many different health and social benefits such as...

-calories burnt:- A good thirty minute workout on a Spinning Cycle can burn as much as 500 calories.

-cardiovascular fitness. my planned spinning classes target both muscular endurance and cardiovascular fitness.

-Low impact:- If you struggle with knee problems like a couple of my clients do then spinning is a great way to exercise as it as a continuous smooth action compared to the constant jolt of jogging.

Mental strength:- although the primary goal is a physical challenge, it is also mentally challenging being able to persevere with the workout we are striving to achieve together as a team. This can then be incorporated it to day to day activities.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

Circuit training typically means performing a series of exercises or activities in succession as rapidly as possible. This provides cardiovascular fitness, muscle tone stress relief and when done as a class helps to build team spirit and a great way to meet like minded people, and have the encouragement of others. and when done right there are hundreds of different exercises meaning you will never get bored of the repeated nature of set and reps in the gym over and over again.

Cardiovascular fitness is the ability for the heart and lungs to work together to supply the muscles with oxygen rich blood, then for the muscles to utilize that oxygen to produce movement such as running, biking and various other sports as well as day to day activities. So it is imperative to look after and improve this system.

CHD (coronary heart disease) is the narrowing/ blocking of the coronary artery this can be caused by the deposit of fatty substances and cholesterol build up on the inside wall of the arteries. This can result in angina (chest pain) and worse case scenario a heart attack resulting in death

We only have the one body, how we treat it now is how it will pay us back in the future.

My story so far.....

We only have the one body, how we look after it now, is how it will pay us back in the future. For me, sport is my passion; exercise is my fuel; results are my energy to strive to reach my greatest potential. My drive to become a Personal Trainer began when my daily training routine combining of cardio, weights and toning, became an increasing struggle. I was plagued with a short series of serious, yet unavoidable injuries. This stumbling block in an otherwise smooth run abruptly incapacitated my fitness regime. My rehabilitaon opened new doors for me - doors I hadn’t even realised were there let alone possessed the key to. Gaining in strength on a daily basis, I felt not only motivated to re-build my capacity, but I was inspired by the team that had persevered to ensure my mind-set and body became focused as one. Understanding more about these professional’s vision, inspired me to help those who needed direction – this underpinned my route into becoming a Personal Trainer. I qualified as a Personal Trainer NVQ Level 3 at The Training Room, Chelmsford (h4p://thetrainingroom.com/personal-training/) in 2012. Coinciding with the aforementioned qualification, I also completed the NVQ Level 2 qualification in Nutriton, Boxercise, Spin Instructor, Circuit Training and Gym Instructor, which added depth to my understanding and application of my Personal Training ethos and later attainment of my NVQ Level 3.Working on a self-employed basis, establishing my business, Fitness Together, I started my career at Heywood Sports leading spin, boot camps, inductions and personal training sessions. I strongly believe that understanding an individual’s drive to achieve change in themselves, is the pivotal point from which successful pathways can be paved. The last two year have seen me further invest in my fitness ethos, achieving my NPETCs through working with children aged 5 – 11 as a P.E. instructor in a primary school. In the latter part of 2015, a business opportunity arose, opening me the prospect to further extend my personal training repertoire at MG Fitness. Having started in January 2016, I am truly grateful for being asked to join MG Fitness team. The professional management, high quality equipment and friendly staff have all aided in broadening my Personal Training horizons. As an experienced Personal Trainer, taking pride in ensuring my knowledge and skill are always current, I have a varied clientele to cater for – there is no change too small or too big that can’t be achieved with a growth mind-set, will-power and vision.
