Details

The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Centre based at Perth College UHI recycles, repairs and reuses IT and office equipment and mobile phones.
As well as contributing to reducing landfill and promoting the repurposing of waste electricals we operate for the benefit of the students at Perth College UHI, providing valuable work experience to computing students to gain hands on experience of fault finding and repairing IT equipment. We also donate the proceeds from the resale of refurbished equipment to benefit the students, such as funding scholarships and field trips.
All equipment is either re-built and re-sold to individuals or donated to local and international charities, any equipment that is unable to be re-built is recycled for parts, by our partners Re-Tek and Tes-Amm. Nothing is wasted! To date we have recycled on average 4.5 tonnes of waste per year, since opening.
