What is semi permanent make up?

Semi permanent make up (now referred to as Permanent Makeup) is also known as cosmetic make up tattooing. Pharmaceutical grade pigments are gently implanted into the dermal layer of the skin; by using specialist micropigmentation safety needle cartridges. The procedures are safe, sterile and the highest standards of hygiene are adhered to at all times.

The results mimic perfectly applied makeup or hair by hair simulation eyebrow hair.

What is the recovery time?

Normal lifestyle activities can be resumed straight away – there may be some swelling and redness but this generally subsides within 24/48 hours. During the healing process, the treated area will form a protective crust over the forthcoming days and the final healed result of the procedure will be about 30-40% lighter than the initial result. A minimum of 4-6 weeks rest between treatments is required to ensure the skin is fully healed, both on the surface and below.

Allergic reactions

A skin patch test kit will be sent out in the post and will need to be performed at least 24 hours before the procedure to ensure you are not allergic to the pigment and anesthetic, however allergic reactions are very rare.

Does it hurt?

Its no more painful than having your eyebrows tweezed. A topical anesthetic cream will be used to numb the area before the procedure. for around 15-20 minutes.

How long does it last?

Permanent cosmetics last somewhere in between last 2 and 7 years, over the years the colour will fade. The longevity is dependent upon certain lifestyle and genetic factors, but the average is 3 years. Because the colour will gradually fade, a retouch treatment is recommended every 12 – 18 months to keep your make-up looking as fresh as possible.

What happens during the procedure?

I will offer a very thorough consultation and together we will choose the most suitable pigments for you, taking into consideration your hair and skin tones and personality. I will create the shape using a conventional make-up pencil. Once we have the best shape, design and colour I will then carefully implant the pigment into the skin. Most procedures will take around an hour and a half, and a touch up complimentary procedure is usually required 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment.

What are the benefits of having permanent makeup?

Semi permanent makeup is becoming more and more popular and is being used by both men and women who have little time to spare to applying make up. It allows them to enhance their natural beauty and look their best at all times without having to carry conventional make up around. Many sports men and women have permanent make up, due to the non smudging after swimming, or after working out. It is also used by people with disabilities, who may find it difficult to apply makeup evenly every day. Semi permanent make up can be applied to the eyebrows in those people with who have suffered with medical conditions; such as alopecia.

What areas are commonly treated?

Semi permanent make up can be used on the eyebrows to frame the face and give more defined and fuller eyebrows. It is used on the eyelids – as eye liner to enhance the natural eye line. It is applied to the lips to add colour and also can be applied to the lip line to achieve fuller more defined lips. A beauty spot on the face can also be added to create an extra beauty enhancement.

Can I have permanent makeup if undergoing cancer treatment

It all depends on Blood Count (White Blood Cells). If the White Blood Cells is low, then you will be vulnerable to infection and I cannot treat you. It depends on the immune system. In this instance; a doctors clearance is necessary.
