Pat's Drapers originated in Gillingham in 1982, a small shop near the strand, selling knitting patterns, yarns, cards, haberdashery and a whole lot more. It was the dream brought to life by my Mum Pat Surridge, the founder of the shop. Pat is now wanting to retire and I have been lucky enough, with the support and finance from my partner, Sister. Children and of course my Mum and Step dad to take over the family business and continue in the way my Mother would.
Within a year a second Shop was opened at Bearsted, Maidstone and soon after followed the Lordswood, the only remaining shop, where the business has been for the last 29 years. There was also a premises behind Maidstone prison for a while
Priding itself on the friendly atmosphere, personal touch and most importantly, only stocking items at affordable and competitive prices, but keeping quality at its best.
Yellow pages have advertised Pat's for many years stating it as being an "Aladdin's Cave" and its customers often state "It's the shop where you can get everything you need".
Pat's Drapers stocks an endless supply of items, for more information please contact us or look at this page for regular up dates.
