Malaria is a mosquito born disease that spreads when mosquitoes bite humans. Rwanda and The Congo are at high risk of people being affected by malaria due to the warm climate especially during the rainy season. In countries like these due to poverty unfortunately don't have the funds to pay for life saving medicines and mosquito nets to help prevent and heal people with malaria. Sadly in many cases this can lead to death.

A few main symptoms of malaria are:
-Headaches
-High fever
-Vomiting
-Moderate to severe shaking and chills
-Profuse sweating as body temperature falls
-Diarrhea

Malaria can affect different people in different ways, and no two infections are identical. So while malaria kills people, it can cause death in different ways.

One serious condition is called cerebral malaria, caused when malaria parasites stick in the blood vessels in the brain leading to deep coma, seizures and death. This affects really young kids the most, usually when they are still babies and is a very serious illness.

By using a mosquito net and medicine thus preventing malaria is has reduced mortality rate by approximately 25% on a world wide basis.
