North Yorkshire West Federation Women's Institute 2.68

The North Yorkshire West Federation of WIs was formed when the large Yorkshire Federation was split into 6 smaller Federations in 1983. Many of our WI’s were already in existence. Since 1983 many new WI’s have been formed.

Our boundaries are the A1 motorway in the east, Durham to the north, Cumbria and Lancashire to the west and West Yorkshire to the South. Much of our area is sparsely populated and includes rural farmland, market towns and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. It is, of course, part of the National Federation of Women's Institutes, the largest women's organisation in the country.

Since its inception, North Yorkshire West has become an established, thriving Federation, due in no small measure to the enthusiasm and drive of all the Federation chairmen, members of the Board of Trustees committees, and sub committees.
