Why Antoinette and Noelle, the baker twins, started New Street Kitchen

Being prone to upset stomachs my sister and I decided to prepare almost all our food ourselves. We wanted to control the way it was cooked. We put all the emphasis on the quality rather than the quantity. We sought to re-discover the true taste and origin of things. Organic vegetables are simply to be found on the farmers’ market. Summer fruit such as redcurrant and blueberries can be garden-grown. Herbs, too, are at hand’s reach and easily looked after in any trough or pots, outdoor or indoor.
Hence, the seasons deliver their charms…if weather allows, of course. Naturally, tastes happen.
To our view, the quality of a taste is more often its simplicity, its subtlety, its ability to be there, like a friend.
