Mount Ida Pottery has been operating for nearly 15 years, while Trevor has been working with clay for over 25 years. He trained as an Art and Design teacher and has taught in a range of schools and Arts Centres throughout Northern Ireland. He has worked with a range of community groups and youth groups and worked with people from 8 years old creating work, and has made a significant impact on all, who know his work.

Over the past 25 years Trevor has developed a unique and very personal range of hand built and thrown ceramic work, which clearly reflects, has rural roots and the rural setting of the studio and workshop. During this time his work is found all over the world, some of his recent commissioned pieces have been taken to the USA as a gift for the Dromore Exchange Programme.

Katesbridge Womens Group as part of a craft community project commissioned a large ceramic panel designed to reflect local architecture past and present. Over 40 people from a wide age range participated in the extended project.

During the summer 2007 Mount Ida Pottery was part of the craft team which represented Northern Ireland at the Smithsonian Cultural Festival in Washington DC USA.

The work created in Mount Ida Pottery reflects its rural location. Trevor is best known for his range of animal figures, which includes feature pigs, sheep, goats, donkeys, cows and chickens.

Recently he has developed day / evening ceramic workshops designed for the beginner through to development classes for those with different levels of ceramic experience, these courses will include learning to use the wheel, hand building, using a broad range of clays, using glazes and oxides to achieve a range of effects.

Mount Ida Pottery continues to grow and develop its product range as well as develop teaching programmes suitable for all participants.
