McCollum Lawns have two main sources of clients the commercial (new builds) and private (one off). Whether it is a new build or existing lawn needing replaced McCollum Lawns can transform your home with a new turf lawn. By turfing your garden it can make an instant change, getting away from your old tired out lawn or garden left in soil and transform your garden into an area, which can be used almost instantly. Turfing can be carried out throughout the year therefore there is no need to wait till spring summer instead your garden can be ready to be used for these times. The only exception for laying turf is if the ground is unworkable due to snowfall or serve frost.



Seeding Lawns

McCollum Lawns provide the service of seeding lawns using only the best seed, so producing good results in their crops. Again we find ourselves working with both commercial and private clients when sowing out lawns. With seeding unlike turfing the lawn establishment time is increased, but on the other hand for larger areas the sowing option may prove to be more within budget. The differences between the seeding and the turfing of the lawns is the length of time before getting to use your lawn, seed will take a longer time to get to the thickness of the sward of grass the turf would be at as the turf has had 9months to 1 year to mature. Finally the time of the year when seeding can be carried out is shortened between April to September, and can depend if weather is favourable.



Lawn Services

McCollum Lawns provide a lawn / garden maintenance service which consists of grass cutting carried out on regular 1 week 10days fortnightly basis depending on the clients request. Along with general gardening activities throughout the year including weeding, leaf blowing and pressure washing etc. McCollum Lawns carry out regular seasonal hedge cutting and shaping of garden shrubs, along with flowerbed designs with tailored plants arranged to suit the clients’ surroundings and taste. The addition of fencing can greatly enhance your property by clearly defining boundary lines and adding security around your property.
