MC Foundation was founded Mr Yoga Mogantas and Mr Nayan Chande in the wake of the Nepal disaster early in 2015.
Nepal :
Following the earthquake disaster that hit Nepal in April 2015, we were all shocked by
the horrific pictures being broadcast all over the world, of the humanitarian fall out
from this issue and though that we can make a difference and must try and help in
whatever way possible.
From this catastrophe, we decided to start a charitable foundation to help where
possible in whatever way we could, people in need suffering due to natural disasters
beyond their control.
Hence, MC Foundation was born, and a rapid internal fund raising started in May of
2015. With the generosity of Friends, Family, Business associates, Staff, our loyal
Patrons, both at Namaste Lounge and Tamara Lounge and in partnership with Mrs.
Dina Patel, owner of Subway franchises, we managed to raise in excess of £24,000 in
less than 12 weeks!
Whilst the fund raising was in process, we had managed to identify, locate and
procure, much needed large strong tents, accommodating up to 4 adults each, and
blankets which were to provide shelter and warmth for all those who had lost their
homes and lively hoods due to the earthquake.
In early June, 2015 Mr. Yoga Mogantas, Joint owner of Namaste Lounge and Tamara
Lounge, Mr. Ashu Goswami, GM of Tamara Lounge along with Mrs. Dina Patel’s two
sons, flew out to Nepal, and personally oversee the aid being distributed to those who
were hardest hit and in a region which still had not received any assistance whatsoever
until our arrival. Also to ensure the aid did get to the people who needed it and not
wasted or lost in transit, as can be the case in the region.
The album shows the aid purchased, being distributed and the state in which these
people had been suffering in until our arrival.
Mad Ball II :
This event was our first official fund raising venture in raising awareness and funds for
MC Foundation and second in partnership with Mrs. Dina Patel.
In October 2015, an event was held at the Watford Hilton, and all proceeds went to our
respective foundations to help those in need.
The event was greatly supported by Family, Friends, Business associates, and loyal
Patrons from both Namaste Lounge and Tamara Lounge, with those attending and
those who could not also kindly donated generously.
The event was also covered by B4U in the UK, with an amazing 3 course meal, drinks
and entertainment provided by a Bollywood dance group, snake charmer and belly
dancers, alongside a world class DJ to help all enjoy a great evening of fun whilst
helping raise funds, by way of ticket sales and an auction of goods kindly donated by
supporters of the event.
We had managed to raise over £7,300 in 1 night!
