Mayfield Studios strives to provide the best possible recording experience, producing an end result that exceeds client expectations.

Our control room is equipped with the latest technology creating a superior recording experience for bands, solo and voiceover artists. The vibrant and spacious live room has lots of natural light, with direct sight lines to the control room.

In order to provide a tailored and comprehensive service, we have established a team of Engineers/Producers with a diverse range of specialisms to ensure Mayfield Studios caters for the full range of musical genres, to include:

Gregg Powell - Pop, Soul, Funk, Ska, Acoustic
Jack Stephens (Envy) - Rock, Alternative, Pop
Jervace Ramsay Linton - Electronic, EDM, Trap (Dubstep)

The studio is centred on the Solid State Logic Matrix 2 mixing console; a 40 input analogue summing mixer with DAW integration. As such, a hybrid mixer with the sonic advantages of analogue systems coupled with digital workflow control.

Mayfield Studios is situated in an elevated position, with attractive panoramic views over treetops to the waterside, including the city of Portsmouth, the Solent and Isle of Wight beyond. It’s an ideal environment to inspire creativity and promote mindfulness.

Mayfield Studios is able to cater for bands and solo artists alike, whether it’s a recording session or a creative songwriting and production sitting.

The studio is equipped to record a full band or group of musicians simultaneously to capture the energy of a live performance, or instead layer instruments individually for a more polished sound.

With the very best virtual instrument and synthesiser packages, our team is able to work with singer-songwriters, rappers and other solo artists to create a professional track with the exact sounds they were looking for. In addition, the studio is able to provide many competent session musicians where desired.

The studio uses both Pro Tools 11 and Logic Pro X, depending on the requirements of each session. Post-production is completed in-house at the direction of the musician, until complete satisfaction over the entire project is achieved.

Mayfield Studios can also provide audio editing, mixing or mastering services as separate sessions upon request.
