My name is Sarah Fagg and I am an Early Years Professional (Level 6). I have worked in childcare since 2004, first in nurseries and then as a nanny following the birth of my first child. Since the birth of my second child I have chosen to work at home as a childminder. I live with my husband Martyn and my 2 children . My daughter attends St Andrews Pre-school and will start Manor Field Primary school in September and I offer drop off and pick up from both. For me childcare is my profession and I am honoured to be caring for your child. I hold a current first aid certificate as required for my registration and attend regular training to ensure my knowledge is current and up to date and to help me improve my practice. Please ask if you wish to see a list of my qualifications and training. I am registed with Ofsted and have regular inspections. Please ask to see my most recent inspection report. Both Martyn and I have current DBS checks.
As parents you are your child’s first and most enduring educators and I work in partnership with you to ensure your child has the best start to their life. By having a regular two-way flow information and sharing knowledge we can help to benefit your child. I give verbal feedback at the end of your childs day as well as a weekly email update. Parent’s evenings are held regularly and I hold an open door policy so you can talk to me about any concerns at any time. This can be done out of hours if prefered or via email. I also arrange winter and summer events. I support you in guiding your child at home and work in partnership with you when dealing with any developments your child is going through (including weaning, potty training, or preparing for school).

I have a home learning environment and I hope that your child learns not only from the activities I provide but also from playing independently. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and each individual child is celebrated and supported in their development. I work from downstairs in my home, with a dedicated playroom, as well as access to my lounge and kitchen diner. Upstairs is used for children who need to nap. When they are asleep I use a baby monitor and check them regularly. I have stair gates at both the top and bottom of the stairs as well as into the kitchen. I also have a downstairs toilet.

We attend playgroups and local events, as well as visiting local parks and nature reserves. We also go further afield to farms, soft play and even to the beach. Children are involved in planning our week. For older children we discuss what they would like to do and what they have learnt recently either at school or at another setting and for younger children I use my observations to ensure their development is supported. All activities are adapted to suit each individual child. Every child is welcomed and valued – please check out our art display to see what we have created recently. Your child will also be involved in creating a yearly memory book to take home, with photos and art work relating to their time here. With your permission we also take photos of our day which we use to create displays and to enhance our leaning experience.

If you are interested in using my services please call to arrange a visit where I will be happy to show you round my home and discuss our daily routine. Before your child starts I will require you to complete a registration form and a small questionnaire about your child to help me understand their needs and routine. You will then be invited along to a settling in session where I get to know you and your child and more importantly your child gets to meet me. During the settling sessions I will also discuss my policies and procedures with you. These are available to view anytime or available on my website. A second settling session will take place where you leave your child for a few hours so help them get used to staying with me. If your child needs more sessions this will be discussed.

I am open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday. I offer drop off and pick up from Manor Field Primary School and St Andrews Pre-school and am open all year round. Breakfast is served at 8am.

Cost - £5 per hour per child (including healthy snacks and lunch). A home-cooked dinner is available at a cost of £2 per meal. Please provide nappies, wipes and formula. A discount is available for siblings.
