Details

Hi my name is Lucy, I am a loving Mum currently OFSTED registered to take care of children. I live in Dorking with my Husband and three boy’s born October 2008, May 2011 and July 2013.
I care for children from my own home in Goodwyns Road, Dorking where I provide a fun, loving, secure, home from home environment. The children have free, supervised access to the garden. I have made the garden very safe for use as it is enclosed, interesting and educational for the children in my care no matter what the weather.
In our setting we have a large selection on toys and books for your child/children to use. I am also part of my local toy library so can make arrangements for any toy’s your child may like if I do not already have them here.
Whilst your child is in my care, they will be invited to take part in various activities such as art’s and craft’s, baking, planting seeds and watching them grow, creative play and other activities to suit their age ranges. As my boy’s are very active I do love to keep them busy so your child/children will be involved in outings on a daily basis. This may be something simple like the local children’s centre or the park. I usually attend St Johns Church at least two times a week between 10am – 12pm as they offer activities for children from Wednesday through Friday. I do also like to take the children to places like Chessington world of adventures, Soft Play, Woodland Walks or to the beach or Farm.
Themed activities would take place to celebrate world events and special occasions where your child can make cards, decorations, bake cakes and possibly sample other cultures to their own.
We are an animal loving household and do have a Jack Russell, named Jack, born 2008. He is amazing with children but we do have facilities to shut him away from the children when required and do not leave children unsupervised with him. We also have a cat named Fifi, born 2006 and two fish.

My Experience
I have looked after children from as far back as I can remember. I have babysat for my family and friends since the age of 16 during the day, evening and through the night.
While at school I took part in work experience at Pond Meadow School (Guildford) and continued to volunteer there for a further 3 years as I found it so enjoyable and rewarding. This school was/is for children with learning disabilities from the age’s of 0-21 years. It is designed to help them become independent and to have a better quality of life and life experiences. My role was to support the Teacher in her role within the classroom setting and to help with their lunch supervision and hygiene.
Most recently I have been volunteering at St John’s School, Dorking and doing charity work for the Friends of St John’s and for the Friends of Dorking Rural Children’s Centre. I have also volunteered for events run by MVHA such as Neighbours Day.

My Qualifications

My Availability
My son currently attends St John’s School, Dorking, where I will be available to drop off and collect from this school. I am available to pick up from other locations where needed but would need to discuss the individual needs for each child.

My Rates:
I currently charge £4.00 per hour per child

This is lower than the standard rate for this area as I am aware many parents earn between £5.75-£10.00 per hour and feel this is a much more affordable price that should be mainly covered by tax relief or child care vouchers for the parents.
