When the trail is stretching out in front of you, the sky is blue above you and (more importantly) the daily grind is well and truly to the rear, that's one amazing feeling.

Loose Reins is all about finding and enjoying that feeling, about discovering some wind-down time and connecting with yourself again. It's a sense of escape, adventure, freedom and experience in the natural world.

We have some of the most beautiful western riding trails around. Loose Reins lies against the foothills of the Wessex Ridgeway in the heart of the beautiful Blackmore Vale in Dorset and we're surrounded by the best views you can imagine. If the quarter horse or saddle is not for you we've got rural crafts, cycling, walking and many other opportunities to help you unwind.

We have beautiful accommodation at Loose Reins; wooden ranch huts and canvas pioneer lodges. All equipped with electricity, gas, wood burning stoves, deluxe beds and private bathrooms. It's the spirit of the prairie but with the comfort of the home range.

Loose Reins has a resident Horse Trainer; Martina, who you can watch as she starts colts, trains young or troubled horses and schools the experienced horses in our amazing facilities. Martina teaches Western Riding and Horsemanship for individuals and groups and she also takes horses on full-time training livery. There's something for all levels of riding ability and Loose Reins offers an atmosphere that builds confidence and trust in rider and horse alike.

So whether your'e saying 'hi' to your inner pioneer, riding to relax or seeking out a new adventure, you can discover many things from a Western saddle.
