Umbrella Community Arts 3.05

Umbrella Arts is a mobile grassroots professional arts health and community arts provider, offering services around the Wigan Borough and North West.

We have a group of professional artists and art educators who can provide art workshops that are grounded in arts health and underpinned by research and science. By complementing medicine and care, the arts improve the health of people who experience difficulties with social isolation and adults who have support needs.

Engaging in the arts promotes and builds wellbeing and positive relationship building. By providing art workshops in community and arts settings provides plentiful life opportunities to give people a different outlook for change. Adults with or without SEND gain confidence and self esteem from participating in our courses. Essential arts health projects are all about the effect that the arts can have on the health and wellbeing of individuals and therefore on our communities.

We are especially keen to work with local charities, community groups and day service providers to offer an alternative way of thinking about art.
