Griffiths & Hughes - Glyn Griffiths - Carpentry & Joinery 2.11

In 1981 I went to Dolgellau Collage to do Carpentry & Joinery straight from school and passed my City & Guilds.
Was employed by Griffiths & Jones, Abersoch for seven years, and then decided to go it alone. My first job was in the Falklands erecting Timber framed houses shipped out for the Fisheries, It was an eye opener for me but didn't last long I decided it wasn't for me (to cold) and managed to get a Job In London before deciding to leave the Falklands, It was a good decision to make and I worked in London for many years doing mainly Exhibition work in the Imperial War Museum, Science Museum and the National Art Gallery. The Queen officially opened the War Museum on completion of the work we did there. Finally I decided to come back to my home on the Llyn Peninsula and set up as a Self Employed Carpenter. In the early nineties I went into partnership with my brother In Law, for some time until he and my sister decided they were emigrating to Australia with their family. I continued the business as a Sole Trader under the same Trading name Griffiths & Hughes.
