The only exception to the game is that no sweeping is allowed.
Curling is a target sport, where players slide a stone down a sheet of ice and have it stop as near the centre of a set of rings (called the house) as possible. The opposing teams will do everything tactically allowed to stop each other from achieving this goal.
Wheelchair Curling began in Europe in the late 1990’s and is developing at breath taking speed. The first World Wheelchair Curling Championships were held in 2002 and at the 2006 Winter Paralympics Wheelchair Curling debuted as a full medal sport.

Wheelchair Curling is open to any individual with significant impairment in lower leg/gait
function, who usually requires a wheelchair for daily mobility. More specifically, those who are non-ambulant or can walk only short distances.
