As a family run company, we are very proud of our reputation for customer service, reliability, and a large varied stock availability.

Contrary to the name being John & J.H. Sands, the shop is actually run by the Skinner family and has been since 1974 when my grandfather Archie took it on from the Sands family. He decided that since Sands was what everyone called the shop he would keep the history/name.

After his death in 1982 my father Stuart took over as manager and has been running the place for 30 years now with no plans to retire anytime soon.

Encompassing the ideal of an old fashioned Ironmongers with a modern layout and service. All our staff have been trained to help you, the customer, select the most suitable goods for your requirements.
