Fully Qualified and Insured Equine Massage Therapist, Equine & Canine Light Therapy Practitioner and member of the National Association of Registered Equine Massage Therapists (N.A.R.E.M.T)

I provide Equine Massage Therapy covering Sports, Healing and Remedial therapy. Both Equine & Canine Light Therapy. Thermal Imaging. Kinesiology Taping & Acupressure Patch System.

Equine massage therapy helps to maintain the working and retired horse, both young and old. Serving to enhance and maintain the tone, flexibility, strength and power of the neuromuscular system, it also enhances the working ability of the body organs and inner working systems.

Horses that participate in the physically demanding roles of all competitive disciplines and leisure pursuits often develop areas of muscular stress, tension and malfunction this causes an inability to remove high levels of toxins within the muscle tissue. Through the law of 'cause and effect' this muscular stress will begin to radiate throughout the entire body. This will inhibit the necessary flow of blood and lymphatic fluid, resulting in the restricted transportation of oxygen and nutrients.
With equine massage therapy I aim to seek out areas of muscular malfunction to correct their negative influences. This then helps restore physical health and well being in the horse.

Treatments

On my initial visit to your horse I will do a history taking, this will then be followed by an in depth head to tail Static and Dynamic Observation on both hard and soft ground, I may also look at the horse being lunged or ridden if required. I will then go on to apply a full massage routine tailored specifically to your horses need! A session evaluation and aftercare advice sheet will be given including exercises/stretches (if required) for you to continue with in between treatments.

Follow up Remedial treatments may be required, this will include a review of static and dynamic observation and targeted areas treated. A session evaluation and aftercare advice sheet will be given including exercises/stretches (if required) for you to continue with.

The Veterinary Act of 1996 states that only registered veterinary surgeons (MRCVS) may treat or diagnose an animal not belonging to them. However, within this act permission is granted for other professionals that work is specialised areas of physical therapy to administer their treatment providing they have prior permission from a veterinary surgeon.

*Please note - I work within the guidelines of the veterinary act 1996 and will need permission from your vet before carrying out any equine massage treatment.
