The Kitchen Farmer Jim Fairlie 2.54

Perthshire based Jim Fairlie is one of Scotland's leading lamb farmers. In September 2007 he took over the running of Kindrum Park Farm and ploughed his years of experience into rearing his own lamb, mutton and beef. Jim prides himself on producing a superior product which he sells at Perth Farmers Market on the1st Saturday of each month.

As well as producing first-rate meat, Jim is a passionate supporter of local produce and farmers' markets. He was the first man in Scotland to launch a farmers market in Perth back in 1999 and was instrumental in the growth and roll out of the concept throughout Scotland. He has chaired the board of Perth Farmers' Market and was the vice chair of Scotland Association of Farmers Markets. In both instances he used his position as a platform for highlighting the role Scottish Farmer play in our day to day diet and food.
