How it started!

We started 25 years ago as a pioneer venture from a large Charismatic Baptist church, which was then called Brandhall Baptist Church.

Many of our congregation in Brandhall lived here in Hurst Green and so we were sent out to pioneer a work here. For 15 years we had to rent a local school as any land in Hurst Green is prime real estate.

Eventually, a friend of ours, who owned the old Adelphi Dance Studio decided to sell up and retire. So we bought the property and began the work of converting it to a place where Christians can worship together.

Prayer is important to us!

We have been through many seasons of blessing and probably more seasons of difficulty. However, we have bonded together as a church and have put down some very firm roots.

We are always open to what the Holy Spirit wants to do in us and through us. Our greatest desire is to worship the Lord and witness of His godness.

We believe in praying for the sick at each service, as and when this is necessary and we have seen some remarkable answers to our prayers. Some have been for folks with very serious complaints.

Come as you are!

We are committed to maintaining a Church where people feel loved, accepted and cared for.

We are committed to people, and all problems, where necessary, are listened to in the strictest of confidence with the greatest of compassion.

We have easy access into the building for wheel chairs. And we have a toilet for the disabled and baby changing facilities.

The Doctrines of Hurst Green Family Church.

The Doctrines held by our church are the fundamental truths of Christianity, as revealed in Holy Scripture, including:

The Divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.

The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, rendering mankind subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.

Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death on the Cross (as our representative and substitute) of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of God.

The Virgin birth, sinless life, miraculous ministry, death and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ and His ascension to the right hand of the Father.

The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective to the individual sinner granting him repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit in the believer evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit and changed lives.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of His gifts through the believer as the means of ministry to both the church and the world at large.

The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgement.

The one Holy Universal Church, on earth and in heaven, which is the body of Christ, to which all true believers belong.

The importance of all true believers belonging to a local church as an expression of that Holy Universal Church.

We believe the Word of God is the final authority in all matters.
