Welcome to Hodson's House, an idyllic and peaceful holiday retreat set in the heart of the beautiful Golden Valley, West Herefordshire. Situated in the delightful village of Dorstone, Hodson's House lies just 5 miles from the famous literary festival town of Hay-on-Wye and on the doorstep of the glorious Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.

In brief the property has 2 double bedrooms. The master bedroom has scope for an extra bed/cot for younger children, while the other double can be easily converted into a twin if required. There are 2 newly fitted bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower and the other with a bath... the best of both worlds! A fully fitted kitchen with range cooker forms part of the open plan living area which opens via large glazed double doors onto the patio and into the enclosed orchard beyond which guests enjoy sole use of.
We're pleased to also be able to allow a maximum of 2 well behaved dogs... they will love the orchard!
Mobile reception is notoriously poor in Dorstone but with WiFi and Freesat on offer those wishing to be troubled by the outside world won't miss out!

Dorstone itself boasts wonderful walking and cycling opportunities right from the doorstep. The excellent Pandy Inn in the heart of the village is a short stroll away from Hodson's House and provides a great selection of refreshments, bar snacks and hearty meals.
A short drive, long walk or steady cycle brings you to the lovely town of Hay-on-Wye. Originally famed for its concentration of second hand bookshops, Hay is now a thriving market town with a great range of independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. There really is something for everyone. Canoe trips on the river Wye can be arranged here and bicycles can be hired.
Hay is also the gateway to the Black mountains and Brecon Beacons. The stunning landscape here is truly a walkers paradise. Horse riders are also well catered for with plenty of riding centres on offer in the vicinity.
