Hockworthy Music is run by Val and Louise. Inspired by the music and arts group Villages in Action, Val and Louise began a programme of concerts in 2010. The aim is to bring truly world-class musicians and their music to the heart of Hockworthy and the rural communities on the Devon / Somerset borders. The programme is growing ever popular and now draws support from much further afield.

Ticket prices are kept deliberately modest to ensure these are all-inclusive events. One of the original goals was to bring life back in to the beautiful village hall and so the small profits are used to self fund future concerts and ultimately to contribute to the upkeep of the hall. Your interest and support is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hockworthy Village Hall History

The Hall, formerly the local school, was built for a cost of £550 in 1860 by the then reverend, Rev. William Newman. The restoration exposed a beautiful vaulted ceiling which is now hung with three new hand-crafted chandeliers. The refurbishment of lead lighted windows by a local artisan, as well as the addition of modern facilities, parking and wheelchair accessibility has brought the hall back to life.
