Hemp Technology 3.02

Since the establishment of Hemcore in 1993 and the birth of Hemp Technology in 2009 we have backed the pioneering vision that hemp, a once ubiquitous crop, can become an essential industrial feedstock for a more sustainable future. Due largely to this commitment, industrial hemp is once again established in the UK, and is helping to create a cleaner and greener World.

Hemcore:
Hemcore Horse Bedding is made from the inner core of the hemp plant stem that is grown and processed entirely in the UK. It is not bleached and no chemicals are added at any stage of its growth, so producing a 'green' product that is fully recyclable into useful compost. Hemp is also fast growing and fully sustainable. In the past, hemp has traditionally been grown to produce fine paper products, rope and textiles and is now also used to make Hemcore - a natural horse bedding. When the crop is harvested in late summer, the outer fibres of the stem are stripped off to produce traditional and new products, whilst the soft inner core is used to make Hemcore. It is dried, chopped, dust extracted and packed into heat-sealed, recyclable polythene bags.

Hemp is an incredibly absorbent natural material and makes a fantastic bedding. It beds down and binds very well to create a soft and comfortable mattress for your animals.

Rapport:
Rapport is based on the straw of the oilseed rape plant. The straw is processed with the same efficient machinery as Hemcore which means an excellent softening and sizing of the straw and of course with a full and thorough dust extraction.
Rapport will work with most animals, especially with our two main customer bases, equine and poultry. You will find that Rapport is cheaper than Hemcore. This is a well considered reduction; we recognise that with green shoots of recovery or not times are difficult. If you need an excellent, lower cost alternative to Hemcore then it will be in your interest to try Rapport.

Flaxcore:
Flaxcore is produced using the softened stem of the Flax plant. The Flax is processed with the same efficient machinery as both Hemcore and Rapport which means thorough dust extraction.
It has a very quick rot down time into good quality garden compost and is also incredibly absorbent.
Flaxcore works with most animals especially our two main customer bases - equine and poultry.
Flaxcore is a brilliant very low cost alternative to Hemcore and Rapport.
Flaxcore IS now treated with citronella, the same as Hemcore and Rapport, creating the perfect stable environment.

For good health and wellbeing, the stabled horse needs a soft, comfortable bed, which will absorb moisture and ammonia, giving a clean, dust-free environment. Make it easy on yourself - use Hemcore, Rapport or Flaxcore

Poultry tech: Tested by Vets, Loved by Farmers
We have worked very closely with both intensive poultry farmers and vets to create Poultry Tech.

Poultry Tech is made from the soft inner core of the Linseed plant stem. It is renowned for its excellent absorbency, very much more so than wood shavings and straw, therefore P/T works very well in keeping the litter incredibly dry. It also makes an interesting litter for the birds, encouraging them to forage and reducing boredom.

Due to its high absorbency maintaining dry litter: problems such as hock burn, breast blister and pododermatitis will be reduced, if not eliminated.

Poultry Tech is fully dust extracted creating a warm, pleasant dust free environment for the birds: eliminating respiratory, nasal and eye infections that are often found in birds housed on traditional materials such as wood shavings and straw that naturally contain a level of dust.

The rot down time of Poultry Tech is very quick, around 8-10 weeks. It breaks down naturally and creates excellent compost, farmers are very happy to remove the muck for these reasons and in turn reducing these removal costs.


You will also find that due to the greater absorbency, the top up rate and maintenance of the bed should require very much less material- reducing your overall litter cost.

Dairy Tech: A New Solution for Intense Dairy Farmers.
With increasing prices for Woodchip and the problems presented by sand, Hemp Technology have used their 1st class production facility to generate a solution for dairy farmers.

Many farmers will tell you, there are challenges presented by cattle that you don't have to address with other animals in stables or stalls, particularly the wear and tear on equipment caused by Sand as a base layer and the subsequent issues with slurry. We at Hemp Tech have carried out trials to establish the benefits of our smaller particle bedding known in the market as "Dairy-Tech".

This exciting and cost effective solution from the manufacturers of Hemcore, Rapport and Flaxcore animal bedding has provided large intense Dairy Farms a product which provides better coverage, while lasting longer at a cheaper price.
