H.J. Morris Motors Ltd is a family run independent garage established in Alfreton for 30 years by the present owner Mr Howard Morris. Howard and his staff take pride and satisfaction in their workmanship and in the personal service they give to all their customers, both old and new. Every fully skilled mechanic has many years' experience in the motor trade and they carry out servicing, repairs and MOT tests on all makes and models of vehicles. H.J. Morris Motors believe it is very important to maintain your vehicle for safety reasons and with today's present economic climate we understand that spare cash is not always available to carry out essential servicing or repairs to vehicles. As a fast moving society we rely heavily on our vehicles, up and down motorways, to and from work and we expect our vehicles to be safe and reliable.

With the increasing poor conditions of our roads and the adverse freezing weather conditions, it is even more important to have a vehicle's safety system checked over regularly. Brake defects, damaged suspension or steering components and tyre damage can all go unnoticed if not checked on a regular basis. Also testing the strength of the antifreeze is very important as this alone can cause hundreds of pounds worth of damage to cars in adverse weather conditions.

Over the past year we have experienced many broken down vehicles recovered in to our garage because they have not been serviced or maintained correctly. In many cases the customer has been inconveniently left without transport for the time it takes to repair their vehicle. We always strive to get the vehicle back on the road as quickly as possible so not to cause any further delay to our customers. We do have a loan vehicle available by appointment.

We have always tried to stress to the public that carrying out an annual service and repairing any defects quickly is more cost effective. It improves the performance and prolongs the life of any vehicle. Even the wrong tyre pressures can increase the fuel consumption on a vehicle, even more important with today's fuel prices.

On the 1st June 2010 the European commission introduced new block exemption regulations to safeguard the motorist giving them the freedom to choose where they get their cars serviced. This means even customers who buy new vehicles do not have to return them to the dealer and pay expensive servicing costs and be tied into their manufacturer's warranty deals. This means we can be competitive in the market, providing good value for money with repairing and servicing of all makes and models.

H.J. Morris Motors feel very passionate about the condition and safety of vehicles on our roads, so we have decided to offer a full MOT test and service from £99 to encourage customers to have their vehicles properly and professionally checked over and to give them guidance, advice, peace of mind and assurance that they are driving around in safe vehicles.
