Guappo Hair Design was founded over 20 years ago by husband & wife creative team Phil & Sam Unsworth. Since then Guappo has been cultivated & developed into one of the region’s leading salons.

Run to a high standard, Guappo has a carefully chosen team of stylists & technicians, each with their own specialisation.
Phil brings a wealth of experience from his early career in Manchester as a men’s stylist delivering polished tailored style & hot towel shaves. Phil was a Finalist at the English hair and Beauty awards in 2015 and 2016 finishing in the Top 10 Stylists in England for 'Mens Stylist of the Year' - The only stylist in the top ten representing the North East!

Sam delivers contemporary styling & cutting skills with attention to technical detail, & relaxing facials & waxing. A highlight for Sam was reaching the finals of the English Hair & Beauty Awards 2013, the only woman in the country to be recognised as a finalist. In 2014 Sam went on to win the category.

guappo hair design has won 'Northeast Salon of the Year' in 2014 & 2015 at the English Hair and Beauty Awards, And reached the Final at the 2016 awards in Manchester.
