BSc(Hons) Music Technology

This course is designed to teach and develop skills within the music production environment. It covers a range of technologies and will include development of your own portfolio of production pieces and access to many of the local music venues.

Key facts

FM community radio station on site that can be used for collaboration work. The University is one of only two higher education institutions to have such a facility on campus.
State-of-the-art new Centre for the Creative Industries supports work across creative disciplines using the latest in recording and production technology.
A 24-hour access recording studio is on campus, and can be used in collaboration work for music projects.
In addition to work in the audio studios and post-production suites, you will have the opportunity to work with other students in our radio station and TV studio on many collaborative projects.

BSc (Hons) Sound Technology

This course is designed to develop skills relevant to and required by the sound and associated media technologies industries. The course prepares you to become a professional sound engineer, or to be employed in one of the many aspects of the modern audio-media industries.

During your studies you will have 24/7 access to The Wall recording studio.

Key facts

The university has a recording studio facility (and MIDI suite), accessible to students 24-hours a day. The main studio area has a floor space of 1000 square feet. There is also an audio post-production suite running industry standard software such as ProTools, Native Instruments Komplete and Logic Pro
Students can use the community radio station, Calon FM, which is housed in the studio building. The station was set up by staff in this area. Glyndŵr University is one of only two higher education institutions in the UK to have such
a facility on campus
Glyndŵr University has a working 900-seat theatre equipped with a bespoke digitally controlled 18 thousand watt PA system and an additional theatre with a capacity of 320

BSc (Hons) Television Production and Technology

Learn and work in a real production environment. This degree is developed in close collaboration with the BBC, Skillset and leading industry experts.

The UK is commonly known as the third largest film entertainment market in the world; the largest generator of creative industries in Europe and the largest producer for TV and radio content.

Our Centre for the Creative Industries is purpose-built to the highest production standards, and is home to BBC Cymru in North East Wales. This offers a major advantage to graduates, who can benefit from networking with industry professionals, guest seminars from the BBC and other leading broadcast and production companies etc.
This course is different to many - students can engage in the day-to-day operation of the television channels and production facility, extending student participation beyond the lecture theatre.
