FdA Coastal Safety Management - STA 2.13

This page is to introduce an exciting new Foundation Degree which offers the opportunity to study the many aspects of safety and management involved in working in, on and around beaches and the coastal environment. Coastal Safety Management brings together elements of working with the voluntary, public and private sectors to offer knowledge, skills and understanding of what is needed to run businesses, events, activities and hospitality in the coastal environment whilst considering the needs of the environment and the impacts of climate and climate change on all of the above. It offers opportunities to gain experience working with the uniformed public services, private beach operators, the voluntary and public sector and to gain the pre-requisite experience for working on the coast, around water or on the beach. There are opportunities to gain professional qualifications across a broad range of subjects including WiSe, TRIM, Lifeguarding, First responding, events and many more to enhance this foundation degree and also to progress on to a full BSc Hons programme at either Plymouth University and Cornwall College Camborne.
