Explore Kintyre - a magical spot on the West Coast of Scotland

Kintyre and Gigha are some of best places to go to if you love attending festivals and events. There are four great music festivals, the Mull of Kintyre Music Festival, Kintyre Songwriters Festival, Gigha Music Festival and Tarbert Music Festival.

There are also food & drink festivals such as Tarbert Seafood Festival and Campbeltown Malts Festival which links with events like the Springbank Invitational Piping competition. For the more adventurous there's the Viking and Traditional Boat Festivals, various raft races and if you like highland games and local fairs the events in Campbeltown, Tarbert and Southend.

For those of you who like to run there's the award winning MOK Run and 10K and various other 10K, 5K and Challenge events in South Kintyre, Tarbert, Gigha and Carradale.

If you prefer a more relaxed style of event there's a great Book Festival in Tarbert and various drama shows and plays throughout the year.

For walkers and bathers there's fantastic beaches in Kintyre and Gigha that give you miles of sandy dunes to walk along as well as some great secluded bays where you can get a whole beach to yourself. You can also walk the lenght of Kintyre on the Kintyre Way.

If its adventure tourism you want there's also a great surfing beaches at Westport and Machrihanish as well as sea kayaking and paddleboarding on the West Loch at Tarbert.

Visit Kintyre and Gigha as there is something for everyone.
