Ellesmere Christmas Winter Festival 2.84

The festivities will begin with the Christmas Stalls in the Market hall from 4 pm, where Father Christmas will be welcoming little visitors to his Grotto until 5.30pm, when he will go home for his tea and to feed the reindeer! At 6 pm there will be carolling around 'The Tree of Light' lead by Ellesmere Primary School and the grand switching on of the Rotary Christmas Tree lights. This year sees the return of the Fizzgigs ‘Lantern Parade’. The Parade will assemble to welcome Father Christmas at The Wharf at 6.30pm, as he arrives for the evening on a narrow boat in true Ellesmere style! The townsfolk will then parade around the town along with a band, giant sculptural lanterns and many individual lanterns which will be made in the community leading up to the event - Dates for the free Community Lantern Making Workshops on this page.
In addition, we have the traditional favourites such as Father Christmas’ Grotto, Donkey Rides, Late night shopping, various stalls in the market hall and hot food served both in stalls & establishments around the town.
